The minutes are of the Thursday Island Church Committee, and later the Quetta Memorial Church Committee. The Quetta Memoral Church was constructed as a memorial to those individuals who lost their lives in the wreck of the steamer Quetta on the North Queensland coast on the 28th February 1890. The church was consecrated on the 12th of November 1893.
Included in the minutes are the first meeting of the Thursday Island Commiteee and, in April 1890, the meeting forming the Quetta Memorial Committee.
Matters dealt with include congregational matters and the construction of the church.

The letters are mainly for the period 1933 - 1959. Two letters in 1911 refer to the formation of the Mothers' Union.
The correspondence for 1933 - 1959 is concerned with the construction of the church.

The volumes are Chapman's personal notebooks from the Mitchell and Edward River Missions, and a diary which is apparently for Edward River Mission.

Lists shareholder and amounts which were credited quarterly.

The Quetta Club was established in 1903 at a meeting at the Parish Institute. The aim of the meeting was to "establish a society in connection with the the Cathedral". It was decided to form a Young Men's Club to advance "mental, social and physical culture among its members." Activities included lectures, debating, public speaking and games. The club went into permanent recess in 1905.

Duplicate of radio messages sent via the Department of Aboriginal and Island Affairs Radio Network. The content of the messages includes arrangement for passengers, notification of visitors to various islands, arrival of ships and general administrative matters.

The records consist of two volumes of minutes. Volume 1 contains the draft and revised constitutions, prayers to be used at meetings and the Diocesan roll of subscribing members and associates. Also included are minutes of meetings at Burketown, Normanton, Croydon and Georgetown.
The Mothers' Union Diocesan Council was reformed in 1931. Included in this volume are annual reports to Synod, changes to the constitution and general business. The June 1937 notation refers to a note after a copy of an extract from "The Carpentarian" 01/10/1908, "This is a record of the very beginning of the M.U. in the Diocese of Carpentaria. J.G.N. Davies, Diocesan President".

Correspondence relating to the following bequests to the Diocese:
R Christiansen - This money was allocated in trust for the Clergy Sustentation Fund
Gertrude Robinson - A bequest to be "used among the aborigines".
Field - The money bequeathed to the Diocese was to be divided equally for the purchase of a vessel to be used in the Diocese; the Mitchell River Mission for building materials; and the remainder to Yarrabah Mission.
Morrison - This money was collected by Rev. Morrison for a "training school for Australian natives in the Diocese". The money is held in trust for St Pauls College, Moa Island.

Quetta Memorial Church was consecrated on 12/11/1893 by Bishop Barlow. It was constructed as a memorial to those individuals who lost their lives in the wreck of the steamer Quetta on the North Queensland coast on 28/02/1890.
