Quilpie to Katherine - Brother Colbert went to Katherine at the beginning of September to sustain the ministry there on behalf of the Brotherhood of The Good Shepherd. This move is the result of the closer co-operation in planning and staffing which was foreshadowed last year.

The future of the Brotherhoods exercises the minds of some churchmen. After a long and honourable history (over 60 years serving the Church people in the outback) the brotherhoods (Good Shepherd and St Paul) must either re-shape and advance into new fields or make provision for closing up.

The Two Brotherhoods have taken further steps in working together. St Paul Brothers have worked with the Good Shepherd Brothers in the Northern Territory and, during the Annual Campaign in Sydney, while a Brother from Bourke has worked with the Cunnamulla Brother on one of the long visiting trips to The Corner and Innamincka.

A Pack-horse Travelling Communion Set with Silver Bowl for Baptisms has been presented to the Brotherhood by the Rev James Lee Warner. It was used in the earliest days of the Brotherhood and was later given to the Rev A R Hoare for use in the Veldt of South Africa. When Fr. Hoare returned to England he gave the set to Fr. Lee Warner so that it might go back to the Bush Brotherhood area for which it was originally intended.
