The Church Chronicle, a Diocesan publication, started in October 1886 as The Parish Magazine. In January 1891, the name was changed to Church Chronicle. Publication ceased in August 1971. It was replaced by the Brisbane Diocesan Newsletter which eventually morphed into Focus.

The Church Chronicle included a section entitled "News from the Parishes" or "Parish News". Many parishes regularly contributed articles detailing doings within their Parishes.
