Bush Brotherhood Children's Camp

The Bush Brotherhood of St Paul operated in Western Queensland. Once a year, the Brotherhood transported many children from far-flung areas of the west to the eastern seaboard for a camp.

Turning of the First Sod

On 21 August 1955, Sir William Slim, Governor General of Australia, turned the first sod of the extensions to St John's Cathedral. Looking on was Archbishop of the Diocese, The Most Reverend Reginald Halse.

On 15 July 1947, Field-Marshall Viscount Montgomery of Alamein laid the Corner Stone of the Cathedral extensions.

The Stone was to be known as "The Stone of Remembrance".

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, visited Brisbane on 1 May 1988. Here she is seen being greeted by The Very Reverend Arthur Grimshaw and Archbishop John Grindrod.
