2nd Bishop of Brisbane (1875 - 1884)

1875	The Education Act of 1875 withdrew state aid and excluded religious instruction being given in state schools during school time By 1880 not one of the Anglican schools remained open
1876	Hale appointed President of the Executive Council of the Board of Missions (later ABM)
1878	Diocese of North Queensland proclaimed
	The Right Rev G H Stanton consecrated first Bishop of North Qld
Hale travelled widely throughout the diocese during his episcopate which was hampered by lack of clergy and shortage of funds. He was regarded as a wise and caring pastor.
